Attaching the zip to the upper..

Next I began to sew the zip onto the upper. Firstly I had to glue down the extra bits of tabs on the top of the zip so they would be folded rather than raw. I then the overhang edges of the zip and the edge of the leather together, and then did a seam of stitching about 2mm from the edge of the upper. I did each side of the zip separately, but only sewed to the beginning of the seam I explained in the previous post, and let the rest of the zip hang out for the moment.
